Richmond Snr. travelled to Australia in 1856 with his parents and nine siblings all who were born in various areas of Scotland. First born was
Sarah in 1833 at Southdean then
David in 1835 and
Euphemia Catherine in 1838 followed by
Thomas in 1840. These three were born at Jedburgh.
The next three
Jessie Scotland Giles born 1841 and died at Boggabri, New South wales in 1926
Richmond Armstrong and
Alice 1846 (contracted measles in 1852 and passed away on 4th. July that year) were born at Peeblesshire and then
Maggie Armstrong born 1848 at Perthshire and died at Hawthorn, Victoria in 1931. finally on return to Jedburgh
William 1851 and
John in 1853
