<\/a><\/p>\nThis fine looking gentleman, with wife Margaret, was\u00a0the beginning of the Australian branch of the Edgar family. \u00a0Halbert would have been about 31 when he emigrated to Victoria around 1854 with this 5 young children, including my Great Grandfather, one year old Halbert James (II).<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Although the name Halbert is definite there is some conjecture regarding the James. \u00a0Halbert James (II) death certificate lists his fathers name as Albert Rennick and according to his own death certificate he was only Halbert. \u00a0Again it appears that either the informant was incorrect or the writing on some previous document was\u00a0illegible\u00a0(not unusual). \u00a0As it was also a usual practice to name the fifth son for the father and as Halbert James (II) (verified) was the fifth son—-?<\/p>\n The six younger children were all born at Harrow<\/a> in Victoria and again I know very little about any of the childrens lives with the following exceptions:<\/p>\n John: \u00a0Born at Moffat on 21st. April 1845 and passed away at Condobolin<\/a>, New South Wales in 1916 aged 70.<\/p>\n Archibald: \u00a0Born at Moffat on 8th. October 1848 and died in Victoria.<\/p>\n Robert: \u00a0Born at Moffat on 13th. February 1850 and died at Moffat in 1866 aged 15 years. There is no information available as to why Robert remained in, or possibly returned to Scotland.<\/p>\n Mary and Isabella.<\/p>\n David: \u00a0The third child born at Harrow on 24th. December 1857. \u00a0There is some evidence that he relocated to Perth<\/a>, Western Australia and passed away there. \u00a0He married Miss\u00a0Annie Mary Taplin<\/strong> on 8th. February 1888 at Euabalong<\/a>, New South Wales.<\/p>\n Margaret Tredwell<\/p>\n Elizabeth: \u00a0Born on 29th. September 1861. \u00a0The only other information I have at this time is a marriage to Mr. Robert McLean<\/strong> at Euabalong, New South Wales.<\/p>\n Christina: \u00a0Born on 29th.
